Born in Penang Island, Sao Inn received both of his architectural degree from University of Malaya. He joined GDP architects from 2004, and later Juteras Design Workshop in 2008. In the following years, he worked alongside local builders and craftsmen under one roof. He established his own practice in 2016.

Sao Inn has been invited as guest lecturer and critic by several local universities. In 2018, he received PAM Award by Malaysian Institute of Architects for Alleati Work Space. He was invited for exhibition design in New Taipei Art Gallery. An interview about his works was published in 2019 issue of AM (Architecture Malaysia).
